Collaborative forum description
In the 5th century BC, the aphorism γνῶθι σεαυτόν (Know thyself) was inscribed above the temple of Apollo. The first theory of personality transcribed by Hippocrates can also be traced back to this time. To Hippocrates, our world would now be unrecognisable, in a business context it could be argued that it is more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous than ever (VUCA). The resultant pressure of change, productivity and performance is exacting a heavy toll on people in the workplace. Perhaps at an individual level the greatest challenges we face are those of, adaption, flexibility, and resilience. In this forum, we will explore how modern personality theory and its practical application can help us to face those challenges and in so doing, help create a climate where our relationships are healthier and where we and the people around us can thrive.
